Taleigha Thompson, LMSW
Taleigha Thompson is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the mental health and social service fields. Throughout her career, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, including community mental health, crisis services, school-based services, and private practice.
Taleigha is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, heard, supported, and empowered to show up authentically. She understands that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable and believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is an important foundation for meaningful change. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based, while also encouraging clients to challenge patterns that may no longer serve them.
Taleigha works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, low self-esteem, difficulties with boundaries, and emotional regulation. She has a particular interest in helping clients understand how past experiences, relationships, and core beliefs may influence the way they see themselves and navigate their lives today.
Her clinical approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused interventions, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based practices. Taleigha is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes EMDR interventions when clinically appropriate to help clients process distressing experiences and develop healthier beliefs about themselves.
Taleigha believes therapy is not about telling clients who they should be, but helping them better understand who they are, identify what they need, and develop the tools and confidence to create meaningful change in their lives. Whether a client is navigating a difficult transition, working through past experiences, learning to establish healthier boundaries, or simply trying to feel more like themselves again, Taleigha strives to meet each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
Taleigha earned her Master of Social Work degree and is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work. Her continued education reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and providing thoughtful, culturally responsive, and evidence-informed care to the clients she serves.
